1. Cancel your credit cards
Switch to cash only! Most people are more likely to buy less, when using only cash. Spending more than you intended requires going to an ATM machine (or even the bank). This provides time to reconsider whether or not the purchases is justified enough.
2. Go Vegan for a few meals a week
Meat can get quite expensive (not even talking about the cruelty part). Try cooking your favorite meals without meat, for that extra saved buck.
3. Use coupons!
Maybe you'll be that annoying customer that holds up the line because he has a coupon for every single item, but hey, you'll end up saving a lot of money!
4. Consider investing your money
Did you know that most first time investors take the leap into the markets by themselves? It's not as scary as it sounds! Don't worry, there are plenty of online portals that are here to set your mind at ease (like Investing.com http://uk.investing.com/equities/ and many other.. just Google it).
5. Use your neighbor's Wi-Fi
We're not talking about stealing! Sharing the same Wi-Fi connecting can also mean sharing one bill. That's a great way to save money at the end of the month.
6. Use vinegar to clean your household
Vinegar deserves a special place in your pantry. This wonderful acidic liquid can squeakily clean your bath tub and kitchen counter top as good as the best cleaning supply that can be found at your local Target (without that heavy price tag).
7. Cool down your air conditioning costs
In warm regions AC can be 60-70% of your summer electric bill. Fear not! The easiest way to cut back on that elusive bill is to turn up the temperature to 76 F. Your house will still be cool enough and you can rest assured, you tamed that energy hog.
8. Stick to a shopping list
Make a list before you go shopping and don't be tempted to buy anything that’s not on it, unless it’s a killer deal.
9. Don't be afraid to bargain!
Or - successfully negotiate lower prices in any situation.
10. Go incognito!
Well, not really, but did you notice that each time you reenter an airline site, they quote higher prices? Just use the incognito mode on your browser to avoid that.
11. Remember, splurging from time to time won't get you bankrupt.
As long as you don't go overboard! Duh Spending that extra buck on yourself can really make a difference in your overall feeling. So spend a little on yourself, when possible, because you deserve it :)
